Cheap Hard Drives!

Over at Fry's Electronics today (12/26), they are having a massive sale - highlights include $180 15" LCD and $50 (after rebate) Seagate Barracuda V 80gb hard drives, $60 17" CRT's, free MP3 Players (32mb, $38 with $38 mail in rebate)... I'm going in about ten minutes! Don't want any of my friends here in the forums to miss out on these deals! (I mean, who couldn't use a $50 80gb hard drive?)

<sigh>

There are NO Fry's around me, lord how I've often wished there were! I've heard they're just as bad as BestBuy with their customer hateful attitude, but I'd love to have the opportunity to bump heads with them myself just to get some of their deals!

They are worse than Bestbuy and better - think of them as Costco's with electronics, with about the same amount of customer support (0 unless you need something forklifted). I'm being frustrated right now - the battery in the car died, and AAA isn't here yet...

It was in an ad in the back of a bay area newspaper - I'm up in San Leandro visiting relatives, and I heard about their crazy after-christmas special, so I went - after shopping for plates (I said who needs them, but apparently my mother really needs new plates). I get over to Fry's Electronics, and they are out of $50 hard drives, free 32mb mp3 players, free 64mb usb flash drives, and their Logitech Z-560's were $200 ($50 too much). So I left with only a CD case that can hold 264 cd's and some compressed air (its 1,1,1,2,Tetrafluorethane, not difluoroethane, meaning that it will not only NOT catch fire, but its other name is HFC134a... so if there are any airsoft players out there, guess what - I have 4 large cans of HFC134a for a total of $14 )

Well then, I think you need to! If you have ever been to a Costco, think of it as a Costco, but no forklifting required, and its nothing but electronics, from car audio stuffs to software to computers and back. Website is www.frys.com, but the website is mainly for pimping their ISP... they expect you to go to the stores to buy the stuff. As far as I can tell, its an exclusively California sort of thing, though I might be wrong.
