Hi all,
Recently I have been looking at LCD screens and I have gotten down to the Samsung 930BF, my only problem is on the webpage is that it says "4ms (Gray-to-Gray)" Now I was wondering if this is a clever marketing trick to fool people like me into buying it only to discover the colour responce rate of the LCD is high. Or am I way off. Samsung 930BF site http://www.samsung.com/au/products/m.../tft/930bf.asp Thanks in advance! Last edited by leetphoenix; Sep 18, 2005 at 12:29 PM. |

i have that monitor, but i have no idea about the 4ms, but i think i saw the Gray-to-Gray all the time. not even sure what it was, but the screen goes from gray color or sttarting from gray for seconds when changing input. go to the store and have a look at it before you buy.

LCDs for today models are not slow any more IMO. or may be i haven't noticed it, nor it's slower than CRTs that much in game.
but i know there are so many discontinued models with older spec that still in resale stores, these are slow. |

The 4ms gray to gray time is supposed to be a difficult transition for some types of LCD displays - but manufacturers can quote this time to draw you in to purchasing a unit that doesn't have deep color bit depth (the higher the better for that spec).
Rather than repost, here is a link to a post here that has links to still other posts within this forum from months gone by that contains the best information on LCD displays we've spoken about. Pay particular attention to Tipstaff's posts - he's got hands on information on some units and an excellent understanding of the technical aspects of LCD technology in those posts. http://www.hardwareheaven.com/hardware-discussion-support/79650-lcd-want-buy-best.html You can also search the forum here yourself using the search function at the top of the page for more - LCD monitor would be good keywords... Hope this helps!
