take pix of everything....the insides and outsides of your rig

as far as the restarting issues. does your machine give you a BSoD after it has restarted? to see if it is your memory and have it tested out, run memtest86. you can do a google search and d/l the ISO image and burn it onto a CD. Leave memtest running for several hours (at least 6), and if you get any errors, then your memory is for sure faulty. If you don't get any errors, then it could be something else, like your MoBo.

thanks. for now, everything is pretty good. i've been trying to overclock, and i got it running at 2.3 ghz, but i was watching the temps and the chipset temp got up to 50C. my cpu temp was got up to about 43C under heavy load (not 100%, maybe 60-70% or so). right now i'm running 2.2 ghz and my temps are chipset is 48C and 34C, but not under load

i think the restarting might have something to do with overclocking also. it just did it again, and i have it overclocked from 2.0 to 2.2 ghz. i guess i better change it back?

up the voltage on your memory and your cpu when you're overclocking. increasing the voltage helps out in stability

each CPU is different. some people (using p4s) can OC like 600Mhz before they need to increase voltages and others can OC (again on a p4) like 400Mhz before they need to increase voltages. I say for your CPU, try it at half those speeds

i would say about .25v increase should be fine for every 150Mhz, i think. not sure. you might want to ask somebody who has an x2 about increasing the voltages on your x2

lol....no . When i have my rig OCed to 4Ghz, i run my CPU @ 1.57v and my RAM @ 3.2v . And that's from a stock 1.3v on my CPU and stock 2.6v on my RAM .

but i thought that you said add .25V for every 400 mhz, right? so if i go from 2.0 to 2.4 ghz, i up my cpu and ram .25V?

right, i said that for intel, AMD works different. so that's why i said earlier to ask somebody w/an x2 CPU to see how they OC their CPU and increasing voltages
