New TFT monitor

Well i think i've got into the right section to talk about this

I've found an opurtunity to buy a TFT monitor, but since i've heard that TFT are not suitable for games, so i'm asking your opinion (since you certainly know that better than me) about the specs:

Viewing Angle: 140°/130°
Contrast Ratio: 600:1
Brightness: 250 cd/m2
Response time: 8ms
Resolution: 1280x1024

forgot to tell... it's a 19'' TFT.

So, can anyone tell me if this is a good TFT monitor?

response time and contrast ratio look good - anything under 12ms afaik is acceptable for gaming

what brand is that?

haven't heard much about that brand so i can't comment - if possible go into the store and ask for a demo of the monitor - playing back a movie file with dark and light sections should give you an adequate idea of the screen's image quality

well, thank you for your opinion

i might buy it and try during the first 15 days and if i don't like it, i'll ask for my money back i think i can do that lol

the monitor costs about 300€. i think it's cheap for a TFT with those specs but... who knows... might be the same and much cheaper than the LG's

I'm now a big fan of Targa. Got a Traveller notebook a few months ago and the 19" DVI/VGA LCD a few week ago (£190 at Lidl, inc VAT). I'm very impressed with the LCD especially as it works flawlessly on my Mac Mini on DVI. Get one!

best move i ever made buying a lcd monitor. I was a little bit wary after hearing about dead pixels but these were unfounded.
I bought a samsung 94v with a 12ms response time and its pretty cool in games and photo work.

i really do want to upgrade to TFT, but i'll need to pay twice the price of a decent one, as i can't use my PC without dual monitors
