exclamation «««CD-RW Problem»»»

When I burn CDs in disc-at-once mode, they don't work. Music CDs skip and iso cd's don't work. In track-at-once mode, though, everything works just fine.

What software are you using to burn your CD's?

uh oh...I remember reading a couple months ago that phillips was being sued becuase all of their drives were faulty, you might want to contact them with your drive's model number to see if your's is one of the affected drives.

I have heard NOTHING GOOD about that release - I'm sticking to 5.5.9.17 until they add <XXX fix the next lot of bugs.

Yeah, I guess you're right. But I don't feel like uninstalling so I'm just gonna wait for the next version and for now I'll just use Track-at-Once mode.

Hmm... I have a few questions.

1. Have you looked for updated firmware for your burner?

2. Have you installed any new VIA drivers recently w/ the ide drivers?

3. Do you have the latest ASPI drivers installed?

Actually, I recently updated my firmware from 2.1 to 2.5. But this was after I noticed that the DAO mode doesn't work. I actually updated the firmware in hopes of fixing my problem.

Yes, I did this before the problem started. I installed the newest drivers (I believe its 4.45 Hyperion).

I didn't worry about installing any ASPI drivers until they were needed in order to update my firmware. I installed the newest version I found (which was 4.72a2).

Try rolling your IDE drivers back and see if this solves your problem.

I really think that it's just the nero software because everything was working fine until I upgraded. I'll just wait for the next version.

Well im glad someone else has had problems and not just me.(No offence)
I have tried burning Audio and VCD and data through the latest version of Nero and it wont read the discs after burning even though you can see there is data on there.
Its not my Phillips burner because I can use XPs built in burning software and it works fine.
Hope they fix it as I have to free up space on my HD.

Interesting about that news on Phillips burners though.Must go and have a look.

If anyone else has had problems with the latest version of Nero post here and we can see how screwed up it is.

This sucks! I just found out that I can't use CloneCD to burn .bin files because it uses Disc-at-once mode.

I would just like to add that I too have had no luck with the 5.5.10 version of nero. Since "updating" to that version my cd burner has only burnt at ~14x instead of 40x.

I am going to reinstall the older version of nero to see if it fixes this problem, perhaps try that?

Try www.burnatonce.com

New version due soon, or donate and join the beta programme

Sorry, this one only does ISO (CDRECORD burn engine)

http://users.forthnet.gr/ath/axatis/...t/XDuplicator/
But this is another one that does BIN/CUE etc

And the CDRDAO burn engine they use DOES support the Philips drives http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html

Do you remeber where you saw that? I have a Phillips burner in another machine that has given trouble in the past.
