Memory Issue!

Hi, I recentrly bought a AMD 64 3000+ with a dual pack 2X 512m of Kingston 400mhz DDR. Everything works fine when i only use 1 stick. But i get a lot of problems when i plug both sticks. Internet explorer keeps crashing all the time nad whatever game i play crashed after a couple of minutes. It shows a memory error message...

I'm not really good with comps so i have no clue why this is doing it! TY for your help

have you tried both sticks independently? Also, have you tried to run the sticks in different slots?
run memtest and see if you get any errors.

A full list of system specs would also help.

Hmm some boards have weird setups as far as dual channel goes, the MSI nforce 3 board would be a great example. You can try using Memtest to see what errors come up. However, remember the memory controller is on your CPU. So I'm kinda wondering if your CPU might be the problem. Have you went in your bios, and manually entered the settings for your ram?

2 and 4 should work fine also

one thing i might suggest is try loosening the timings in the bios of the ram - may help prevent errors, however if that does not work you may need to rma
