Just A Quick Bit Of Guidance Needed
I recently brought a new case for my PC. This has a headphone socket on it but i am not able to connect this headphone to my audigy 2 soundcard. Instead i have to have it connected to my motherboard.
When i want to use my headphones i have to disable the audigy 2 driver in device manager and then enable my motherboard sound driver (which is soundmax by the way). This doesn't take very long but it is inconvienient as i often use my headphones. I wondered if there is a way to execute a program or something along those lines to switch between the drivers, or if there was a way that i could make them compatible with each other. I know you can set up a different hardware profile but that requires rebooting to change it and that would be more inconvienient than my current situation. If anyone was wondering i have windows xp home sp2, a asus p4c800 E deluxe motherboard, soundblaster audigy 2 soundcard, thermaltake tsunami dream case. Thanks in advance for any help |

Erm I might be being too logical here but surely your speakers or speaker volume remote has a plug for headphones? If you plug your phones into that it'll kill the speakers and you'll get that sought after 2 channel magic

What type of connector is on the end of the plug on the case? Does it look like a CD audio connector? Are you using KX drivers? |

"Erm I might be being too logical here but surely your speakers or speaker volume remote has a plug for headphones? My speakers don't have a socket but my soundcard does. However thats at the back of the comp and can be hard to get to so isn't really an answer although i'm sure it will work. I'm currently running standard creative drivers for my sound card and standard sound maxx drivers for my mobo sound, both of which are up to date. Thanks anyway |

I apologise if my reply sounded a bit off it wasn't meant to I guess it's just the way I type. What I meant was do your speakers not have a headphone jack? If you let me know what speakers they are i'll take a look. It would be much easier plugging your headphones into the speaker rather than having to muck about with your tower.
I know exactly what you mean though I have a mic and headphone jack on the top of my case that I just left disconnected. |
