Well, I just got that board and a 3000+, and it's nice. Great overclocker, that can get to 3500+ speeds pretty easy. If you don't want to risk that, I'd do the 3500+. It's got good performance for the money. Wrong forum btw g35x

Return your asrock mobo, get a good one (Ultra-D, A8N-E...), and then get a 1MB optron and a sweet hsf.

listen to krips. An opteron is a far better deal. If I were to go AMD, i would purchase an Opteron 144 without a doubt. |

Definitely go for the opteron; so many have been hitting 3GHz its not even funny. It would also make for a killer setup if dropped in to a DFI nf4

Hmmm, so the opterons and the x2's are the both dual core processors, just the opterons have at least 1MB of L2 cache? Is the opteron 148 good?

I've got a similar system to what you might get and it rocks especially in BF2. That said, I'd get a 3800x2 instead of a single core its a better investment.

It definitely has more overclocking options, and more importantly, a lot more voltage adjustments...it naturally overclocks better too. The asrock does have a beta bios from ocworkbench that does unlock a lot more options though. The price of the asrock is definitely attractive, and it is a great board.
