On my new board, there is a connection that is ATX12V1, but i\on the power supply there is a connection that fits but it's called P4, and there is one identical called P4+, can this one be used for this connection? Also, there is a slot called ATX4P1, and there is 2 cords called VGA/HDD that fit into it. Thanks in advance

some motherboards require an 8 pin connector, which may be the reason you have two 4 pin connectors. If they are identical either should work
and for the second one, is that near a PCI express slot?

It's the AN8-SLI, I have it all installed now, but now I have a different problem. When I install windows, it goes to the blue install screen and formats/installs, but after it restarts it goes straight back to that screen, not the GUI. Even, if I set the harddisk as boot device, it just asks for a system disk then. I'm really confused, what am I doing wrong?

I'm doing chkdsk now, it found some problems, and I'm having it fix them, could that be my problem?

that could possibly be a problem, i had a dodgy HDD that would slow the entire post process, aswell as refuse to boot after installing windows

I think it may just be the windows install not modifying the mbr right or something, I'm still trying stuff, it's probably not the HD because I've used this HD before with my old rig. And, the IDE controller probably isn't at fault because it detects the HD fine, and windows installs fine, it just never gets to the GUI.

Hmm, I've reinstalled a couple of times now, and it still isn't working. It just restarts from the blue screen installer, and then loads back into it. It never installs XP fully.

All of the jumpers are in the correct position, I'm really not sure what to do now.

Alright, I got it fixed, seems that the IDE cable was screwed up. Now that I have all drivers and updates installed, it says that the card is running at 8x how do I get it to run at 16x?
