only thing i can see an FX having over the x2 is the abilitt to INCREASE the multiplyer... not to decrease.....

from what i have been reading earlier when i was getting my cpu and looking up models i think the next fx is the FX60 Dual Core or Single Core, will be clocked at 3.0ghz i think from what i can remember.

as they don't have anything price wise competeing with the dual 2.8 ghz intel dual

They also don't have anything with as pathetic performance as the Intel "Dual Cores" either.

As far as the dual core FX-60, according the INQ it will be released on January 10 and will be a dual core clocked at 2.6 GHz

[color=black]yeah thats true if they had 1 i would get it i cant spend 322$ for the athlon X2 3800+ i want so im getting an AMD Opteron 148 Venus and OCing.....figured out it would be better then getting an athlon 3700+ san diego.....and no way in hell am i going intel lol[/color]

the FX series usually OCs better and has a beefier cache, which is the big improvement, much like the intel EE chips

Yes, but at what price? Everytime one comes out, it's expensive as hell. Depending on how much it costs, an dual core Opteron or a regular X2 might be a better option, I think
