Sapphire X1800 XT 512 DDR Problem with Quake 4 Arhhhh

is this a problem with the game or my card if its the card i will be well sickened in haveing to send this back for a exchange
if indeed its the card im going NVIDIA im sick and tired of all these ATI bugs.

first there was FEAR stuttering peice of shit on ATI cards includeing my X1800XT

now when i select ULTRA MODE on quake 4 and start the game it will load 3quarters from the end and freeze and bring up a error in quake.exe and i have to close it, the card works perfect under high quality though.

also whats with this shimmering stuttery effect in quake 4
where its not like its stutters but its like its missing a frame or something when you run fast ect.....

im sick of computer problems lol

have you tried a fresh format with the latest drivers?

Havent tryed a fresh format but i dont see how that would make a diffrence.
the os is only 2 weeks new anyway from the last format i did.

also i installed the drivers the correct way useing uninstall then dcleaner pro then rebooting and installing new card and then reinstalling latest drivers.

btw is there any BIOS settings i have to change when useing PCI-Ex compaired to AGP or anything that is benifitial to the way the graphics card runs......

game ran fine from start to finish with out any issue on my X800XL...
If I remeber I will look at it again next week when my X1800XL arrives.
But then again I still wouldn't be useing the "ultra" setting

There's a bug with the Cat 5.11 drivers; the game will freeze if ultra quality is used. I think its in the release notes and should be fixed in the next cat release-hopefully
