??? Big difference between DVI and RCA?

I ordered another Hyundai L90D+ LCD this morning so I can run dual-monitor but I just thought of something: I don't have a DVI connector left, only RGB. Will there be a huge difference between both images, or will it be barely noticeable.

The RGB LCD will be used for browsing while the DVI LCD used for Photoshop and gaming.. man, I can't wait!

Personally, I cant tell the difference at all. I've had both connected, side by side, adn I'm conviced there is no noticable difference. Dont know from a technical side though, just a personal view. I did find a good article at one time about it, but AI can seem to locate it now, I'll keep looking.

I think it really depends on the monitor. I had a Dell 2001fp and the VGA input was IMO unusable the quality was so bad. However the 2405 VGA input looks to me just as good as the DVI (well almost).

as Allan said, it really depends on the screen/panel. The panel in that one (A-Si) is the same panel Sharp uses in their Aquos screens, which look excellent off compnent, s-video, and coax...so my guess is that it will do fine running the RGB analogue signal.

Just out of curiosity, how's that screen handle dual inputs? My IBM here has a hat switch that goes from screen 1(VGA) to screen 2(DVI) and so if I were to use that I'd just set the desktop to expand to screen 2 and would be able to open one set of windows there, and one on screen 1...is that how the Hyundai works too?

The Hyundai has a modular VGA and DVI cords so I'm thinking it'll auto-detect input source.

well I agree, it probably depends on the monitor I have a Dell 17" ultrasharp digital monitor and have alwasy used the DVI connector, however a couple months ago when I had to RMA my RAM I had to use my laptop so I hooked it up to my monitor keyboard and mouse and I could tell a noticable difference runnign VGA input. It could have partially been the difference bt/wn my desktop and laptop...but I think there was more to it.

Also, my sister has a Dell 19" ultrasharp that she uses with her desktop. she has a 6800 and even though it has DVI out she only uses the VGA output... it doesn't matter how many times I tell her to switch she won't listen. but to me the monitor does not look as detailed as mine.

Personally when running VGA as opposed to DVI the corners apper to be not as crisp.
