Hard Disk Allocation question
something ive been meaning to ask for some time now...
ive got a 160gig HD in my system right now, but windows only detects 127.9 or so. i did a full system format not too long ago, and even then it would only format 127.9 gigs. ive used the Western Digital hard disk tools so windows can detect the other 30 gigs, but again, nothing. when i look in the disk management tool, i see C: 127.99 gigs. i also see to the right of that, 21.06 unallocated gigs. is there any way i can get windows to recognize those other 21 gigs so the rest of my HD becomes useable? preferably being able to add it to my current C: drive if possible?

Update your Windows with a service pack, if you haven't already.

I use windows XP Pro SP2 install disk.. pop it in... let it load up.... cancel the repair or installation over top.... then pick your drives and partition them (one method)..
I've yet to run into a problem having a hardrive be detected... however, run into problems with 3rd party tools which i refuse to use as in the end.... imo, i find they just do the job effiecently. Plus i don't use the disks that come with the drives... just my handy xp pro sp2 installation disk...
