My AMD64 3500 cpu has died. I would like some advice about it's replacement. Is it worth spending the extra cash to go up to a 4000, or am I better off spending half the cost and simply buying another 3500? What, if any, real performance gains could I expect if I go to a higher chip? And which chip should I look At?
Thanks in advance. |

if you want a dual core the x2 3800 should be just nice.
however if you want to stay with a single core you would be better off going for a 3700+ instead of a 4000+. they both use the same core and they'll OC to basically the same speed. Plus, you'll save $100. the 3700+SD core sells for about 230.

Try and find one of those nice Opterons before they're all gone! 14x and 16x's are quite nice I hear

14 series are single core and 16 dual core, ZipZoomFly and Monarch computers still have them.

I'll actually soon have a 165, so I can tell you if it's good or not.

"I" got mine at Monarchcomputer.com before they had announced it, but it's currently waiting under the Christmas Tree, which I'll be getting early
