This error is getting really frusterating. Its been happening ever since Windows updated.
Everytime i go to play Battlefield 2, when its loading a map, it shows this screen: http://luke.oxihosting.com/PDR_0266.JPG Ive contacted EA games support, and they arent helping at all. Ive tried different versions of drivers, all sorts of tests, and nothing is fixing it. I really want to play BF2, so please help :/ System (Dell 2400): - Windows XP Home - 768 Mb RAM - 2.4 Ghz proccesor - Nvidia Geforce 6200 Another error im starting to get, is whenever (and this is only when) i try and run the patch updated for BF2, i get the same blue screen, except it says "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". :/ |

what version of windows are you running? Is it up to date?
Also, check how much virtual memory you have allocated. |

Ive checked, and yes Windows is up to date. I canr find what version it is.
And the virtual memory total is 2257 MB. |

Also, download and run Memtest 86+ http://www.majorgeeks.com/Memtest86_d4226.html
These problems can be caused by faulty memory. Run the program (it take a while, read the instructions) and see if you have memory problems. I'll look into this and see what I can come up with. |

Ive tried this, on several occasions, and it just wont work for me. its supposed to come up with a certain screen on startup, and alls it does is flash numbers on the left side of my screen and just sit there. No status bar or anything.
And the version is XP |

I got that exact error alot when i had my fan set to low on my old rig... turned out to be my cpu over heating so i just set it to high and it was away.
i previously did some digging around on it and some people sugested swaping some of you pci cards into diffrent slots or not using them at all.

Maybe try this http://www.majorgeeks.com/RightMark_...ity_d4684.html for testing memory, or maybe SiS Sandra to see if that could work. (sounds like maybe a memory problem or something with the windows update)
Is the problem happening in windows iteself, other games, or only in BF2? |

Update for Windows XP (KB910437)
Brief Description Install this update to prevent or resolve an issue in which Windows Update and Automatic Updates can no longer download updates after an Access Violation error occurs when using the Automatic Updates service. ______ Does this only happen when online? Try BF2 ofline and see if it works. This still sounds like a memory problem to me (or possibly some other hardware). I would run a test of the memory. |

I just ran a memory test, when it got to 200% i stopped it because it didnt find any errors.
And ill try it offline, see what happens. |

Ok, i had to uninstall BF2, because of the patch crashing in the middle of installing it so it corrupted it. Ill reinstall it later.
But i was jsut in the computer looking at the memory. One stick is a 512 mb stick, which came with it, and the other is a 256 mb stick, which my brother gave me after he upgraded. Is there a chance that the 256 isnt compatible so its not able to be used and thats whats causing the problem? I was thinking that maybe BF2 is such a memory hog, that it uses the memory from the 256 stick that no other program uses. Plausible? |

Well, are the memory sticks the same rate (ie are they both 3200) or are they different (ie one stick 3200 other stick is 2700). If they are different, they will not work together.
I would take out the 256 stick and see if that solves your problem. |

I ment they may not work right, as I always had a (strikingly similar 0x0000000A) problem with on old comp that had different speeds of RAM (pentium 4 system, Dell). After replacing the older stick, it worked correctly (and still works at my parents house.), I also reformated when I did it. Regardless, I still think this is a memory problem. Don't know, as the mem tests seemed fine. How about BIOS updates? Have you checked to see if any are available for your comp? I'm about out of ideas, maybe someone else can help as well. |

Ok, they are the same speeds, to my knowledge.
Im about to reinstall BF2 and attempt to play without the 256 stick. |

Still doesnt work.
Took out 256 stick, tried it, didnt work. Left out 256 stick, took out 512 stick, swapped it with my brother's 512 stick, still didnt work. So, now i know its not the memory problem. Im beginning to think its a conflict between windows and nvidia drivers. Ill look over at omega's and see what they have. |

Try the DHZeropoints, they are newer drivers (Omega's nvidia project has been on hold for a while).
Also, dont forget to run drivercleaner after uninstalling them. Run it in safe mode and read the directions. It might be some other driver conflict. Try reininstalling your chipset drivers. edit: You didnt tell me your card was PCI. This might mean something different, I'll look into it. Look for a BIOS update and get the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard and drivers for your NIC. I read earlier that this is common with older architecture, but no word yet on how to fix it. I have a greater feeling that this is a driver conflict. Also, when you installed windows, you did a fresh format right (ie. not installed over win 98 or something)? One thing to check also, the intel application accelerator if its installed - might be worth installing the latest compatible version for your machine.
I had the same problem last year and it turned out to be whenever IAA was loaded, the machine would crash when trying to play doom3. |

Im lost on DHZeropoint's drivers. Could someone possibly direct me to a page?
And as for IAA, how would i know if its installed / running? |

im drunk so hopefully this makes sense
![]() i had this problem before and if i remeber right iy took me the best part of a month to figue out a fix for. the way i sorted this out was to underlock ny CPU in the BIOS, for some reason it didn't like the apparent stated clock spped which was 2400 and so i clocked it to 2200 if my memory serves me, and i never had another problem. anyways good luck and all the best with this one.

im fairly sure that this isn't a driver issue but i could well be wrong.
to change the clock speeds in the BIOS - hit del, f4 when the computer starts or it might be escape to get into the BIOS. i amn't too sure on a DELL but someone else might be able to help. Then you are looking (prob in advanced BIOS features or advanced chipset features) to change the CPU multiplier (or frequency) to something lower which will then lower your stated CPU speed. Or you can change the FSB to either 133 or 100 as im sure it is prob at 166 at the moment. If these are on auto at the moment check the motherboard manual for the correct manual settings for your CPU. I really think you should try this as this sorted my prob and i got this fix from another forum wwhich had sorted the this irql prob. regards EDIT: just did a quick look for those drivers here is the latest thread on driverheaven for the new release http://www.hardwareheaven.com/other-tech-news/94754-dhzer0point-0-513-released.html hope this helps
