CRT monitors have burn-in?
i never knew CRT monitors have burn in.... or is it transparent windows?
my 700ift shows my windows xp professional logo in the back. i noticed this more after play cs source and getting constantly flashed and the screen turning white |

cant say that i notice it on mine. my monitor is 10 years old with atleast 25k hrs put on it by my self in the last 5 years. god knows how many were put on it before that. it was used for high end renderings before i got it, so im assumeing alot.

Sure, the phosphor layer can get burned in even if it usually takes a lot of exposure. Powersaving/Screensaver is always recommendable.

With modern CRT monitors burn-in shouldn't be a problem, though still good to have a screensaver, etc. just in case

Oh yes, CRTs can burn a pattern - ever seen an old video game CRT like Ms Pac Man or Dig Dug - they show it pretty obviously - the same can happen with plasma displays nowadays...
Monochrome displays had it bad, color CRTs were not as suseptible but still have the tendency. Just avoid displaying the same thing in the same place for long periods of time - but once it happens there is really nothing you can do but replace the CRT. I'm more concerned about your screen flashing and turning white...

I didnt know CRT monitors suffered dead pixels or at least something that gives the same effect. I've always had a red stuck pixel right in the middle of my phillips 17"CRT.

Yeah, stuff like that is much more visible on a consistent backround Lelisevis, When your monitor turns off it probably shows a bright point in the center before turning dark I bet...
