U need WM9 for it. It uses those codecs, but yes, it's boring

1. I'm not going to install MP9 just to view a tiny teaser trailer and the sites said it was recommended not required.

2. Take a look at HEYyou's title under his name.

I think that answered all the questions

Plays just fine in WMP8 using the WMP9 codec which it downloads

I just watched the trailer, and I must say, it didn't have the same gut impact that the nature scene in 3dmark2001 had on me (which was, "OMFG!")... though perhaps they are saving best for last (and it better be damn good, we have been waiting 2 years for this one...)

Yeah you'd think with 2-3 years of time they'd come out with something absolutely amazing, but I think I've been desensitized by the Doom3 alpha

I have never seen the DIII alpha, and I never will (until after DIII is out, at least), for two reasons : one, I don't want to ruin anything for myself, and two, I have a GFMX

I think that I probably won't even be seeing the insides of 3dmark2003 until after DIII comes out, because I won't be able to run it without a new video card

I dont know about everyone else... but, I think they could have done a better job. Just my 2 cents worth.

I just had a thought - maybe 3dmark03 is going to be using the same engine as Doom III (lets hope), because if that is going to be the standard for future games, then 3dmark03 will work well for determining in-game performance... but also, that would explain the Doom III look that the program has, and the fact that its a stupid hallway (with nothing in it, might I add..) is because Carmack hasn't finished the engine enough for them/him to be willing to show any more... or because the engine only very recently was completed to a point where they could render a demo like that...
