Nope, slap it in and fire it up. DMI will update during boot, but that change does not cause any driver issues that would lead to a reinstall.

P.S. Nice day in the ol' NW today, eh?

coldfrontt is on a distinguished road

Shouldn't be prob, but make sure your bios version supports that CPU. A bios update may be in order.
It should be version 1017 or later.

thx rasta,it is a wonderfull day.got a new cpu and also some sunshine, man who can ask for more.later

during the time i replied and now there were some other posts so thx to all and the cpu works perfect.runs a little warmer than my northy but from what ive heard this is quite normal.35c idle and 49 to 50c at 100% load for 20min.im going to do alot of benching soon but normally 20min will get a fairly accurate reading.now when my x850xt pe gets here from drakon all of my upgrades should be complete until i breakdown and go pcie.later

edit: 80.00 for this 3.4e and it is the best cpu i have ever owned.if you are going to buy a used cpu make sure it is from a locked system like a gateway or dell.most people that buy these systems dont want to oc so it ends up being like new.
