Random restart?
Ok so i come home and i notice thay my computer is sitting at its welcome screen awaiting my password like its been shut off or restarted...so i think nothing of it and go to type my pw and my computer restarts the second i touch the mouse... i turn it off and go back to work. when i come home i start it up everything seems fine so i walk away for about a half hour, i come back later and about about 3 minutes into simple web browsing my computer restarts again.. this time i go into bios and look at my temp's and visualy make sure my fans for my heatsink, powersupply, and video card are running correctly...all check out good. In bios my CPU temp at first started at 107F then slowly within an hours time went to 115.5F without shutting the computer off i saved and went into windows and looked at mobo monitor and it stated that my processor is running at 102F while ideling in windows. If the computer sits and doesnt do anything it will take roughly an hour i'm guessing to restart... if i'm working on it or doing simple simple tasks such as checking email it restarts faster... i'm trying to figure out whats going on but i'm not sure and i dont have the money to be replacing shit that dont need replacing so any help is greatly appreciated. btw its good to be back

If temperatures aren't causing it, you should download MemTest86 and check the RAM for errors.
Also, make sure the fans are running inside and that dust is cleaned out. Don't use a vacuum hose, though! Just get a can of compressed air and clean out around all the vents and anywhere you see dust accumulated. Good luck! |

Have you run a virus scan lately along with an adware/spyware scan?
Have you seen it restart by itself? Any error messages? Tried running it with all network communications devices disabled (in the Windows Control Panel)?
