DH Review: Intel Core 2 QX9770 and QX9650 Processors
Read The Review Here
_____________________ In this article we are going to take a look at the new QX9650 and QX9770 when compared to the existing QX6850 and ageing QX6700. Rather than benchmark the processors on the same configuration which has been done to death across the web we are going to approach this from a slightly different slant. Each of the processors will be tested with memory at a 1:1 ratio. So for the 9770 than means 1600MHZ, the 9650/6850 1333MHz and the 6700 with memory at 1066MHz. As well as providing a unique perspective on the performance of each CPU we also feel this method of testing closely matches memory configurations consumers will pair with each processor. At the end of the review we will analyse how various memory speeds impact the performance of each CPU, so if you want to know how the QX6700 with DDR2 compares to the new QX9650 with DDR2 we will provide the answers. thx for all the work guys! think id have to with the 9650 & oc it. really would like to see how it would work in my h20 setup. the high speed ddr3 is definetly the way to go - basically everything that you recc'd
![]() im hoping t obe able to do a mb/cpu/me upgrade in 2-3 months. should have the mb dialed in & rockin a little more by then & price on the cpu &mem should be more viable, especially that high speed ddr3. bty which of those 2 mb's do you prefer as far as stability/perf go?

The Maximus Extreme has handled everything i've thrown at it over the last month and continues to improve. I'm just waiting on one last bios before we review it but already i know its a 1st class board which works brilliantly with the QX9's.

Those cpu's looks awesome! I have the Asus Maximus Formula motherboard my self...not the extreme, but it is an excellent motherboard.

Highly impressive CPU's :O
Would also go with the 9650 and clock it, guessing the 9770 is going to be a billion dollars. |

The review was great switching it up abit with the type of memory and speed. These new CPUs from Intel are monsters. I can't wait to build a new system with one of these.

I'm too poor to upgrade so this makes me sad. We have been doing a loto f testing on the new 45nm procs at work. Great review, and I can't wait to get my paws on them
