DH Review: NZXT Tempest Case
Read The Review Here
_______________________ NZXT is a company focused on the needs and desires of PC enthusiasts and gamers alike. Today, we are taking a look at their newest mid-tower case: the NZXT Tempest. While aesthetics, quality and price are important considerations for those purchasing a computer case; with this addition to their lineup, NZXT have set their focus on one core feature: cooling. The question posed is: “Have NZXT created a quality case that can aptly be dubbed the “Airflow King”?” |

I think the review for this case is quite informative and maybe when i upgrade my current system i would consider this particular case, since it is value for money. However how loud is the noise level? i mean nails on a board loud or your sister playing her loud music in the other room loud? maybe in future you could consider a Decibel (dB) reading.
"The noise generated by the chassis could be somewhat of an issue for many people. Aside from noise generated by the fans, the rattling of the top exhaust fan lowers the overall feel of quality" Any way good review! Last edited by temeteus82; Apr 21, 2008 at 02:42 PM. Thanks for the feedback.
The primary reason I chose to describe the noise, as opposed to applying a dB reading, was because of all the factors in play, from my specific system components, to the noise of the room. It is difficult to isolate the case noise from all these things, and even more difficult to make it meaningful. Having used this case for a few weeks now, with more than one system installed, you do get used to it, except the noise from the overhead fan housing (which was more than likely an isolated incident with the review sample). I've since rigged the case to eliminate that. It is a good idea to make a general comparison. I would say, it really sounds like one would expect: having several mid-grade fans running at the same time along with all the other system parts. In general, it's your typical case with some added "white" noise. It's not distracting, but not unnoticable, either. As I said in the review, NZXT really focuses on pushing a ton of air, which the Tempest does well, and not on noise. I can say that my wife, who's not as interested in it's thermal qualities, has commented on the noise the thing makes. I hope this helps, and again, thanks for your feedback. Any other comments are very welcomed. |
