PC Specialist Apollo System Review @ DH

Read The Review Here
____________________________

PC Specialist are a UK based company who concentrate solely on custom PC builds for consumers that do not have the time or expertise to create a system themselves. Trading since September 2003 they may not be the first name that comes to mind but this does not mean they should be ruled out if you need a prebuilt. Using their web configuration tool it is possible to create a system to match your dreams (or budget!) and one such system is the Apollo.

Today we are reviewing one of the higher specification models in that family which features a quad core Intel processor, dual graphics cards and over a terabyte of storage. As well as the standard performance testing we will also be taking a detailed look to see just how it rates in regards to the quality of the build.

If the price includes the monitor then it is a good offer.
Good review though I would like a few things said about the monitor, if it is included in the system.

As mentioned, the menu system could do with a running total, or a least a +X / -X so you could assess how much it would cost to move a component up a notch.

There are plenty of worse choices than FSP, or are there?
MADSHRIMPS - Hardware Reviews ,Crazy Projects, Modding Tutorials and Overclocking - reading this review, FSP Epsilon 900 vs Silverstone DA750.

OOh, those heatsinks look rather small for a 900W

I think they misinterpreted the ratings, counting the FSP900 as being only 700W combined 12V (875 - 175), when it appears to actually be 840W (combined 70A) with an 875W combined +V rail rating.

Not a great test though, I'd like to see it given a 100% pounding, those heatsinks look mighty small, even given 80-plus efficiency

Yes, the price quoted in the review includes the LG screen.

In terms of how nice the screen is, I have to say it is one of the best looking displays I have used. It looks more like a TV than a monitor and would look awesome with a set of nice speakers beside it.

Its a 5ms response model and that combined with the quality provided by DVI gives you the basis for an excellent quality of image.
