NorthQ FlexQ Combo Cooler @ DH
NorthQ FlexQ Combo Cooler Review
______________________________ There certainly isn’t a shortage of CPU coolers on the market, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The same could be said about GPU coolers, although they are not quite as numerous as CPU coolers! Today however we will have a look at a rather strange cooler from NorthQ, the FlexQ Combo cooler. What makes the FlexQ Combo unique is that it can be installed not only on most processors as a low profile cooler, but on several GFX cards as well. But given its small size, can it perform well enough to be a competitive product? We will find out in this review. |

Re: NorthQ FlexQ Combo Cooler @ DH
Well it certainly resembles the stock Intel cooler and not really that impressive on temps. But it is a combo cooler with limited applications as noted in the review.
A question (for Grace perhaps) ... I noted in the fit guide it said: 4: Intel Core 2 Duo (LGA 775) (Not for Prescott class) I was curious if you knew why? Great article BTW and just a note there is a small typo on the last page ![]() Quote:

From the size of it, it probably can't shift enough heat for a power-hungry prescott - mine is an 84W TDP (I thought it was more) while a lot of core 2 duos are 65W TDP or less.

Re: NorthQ FlexQ Combo Cooler @ DH
As Matth said before, the TDP of a Prescott is much higher than that of most modern processors. Theoretical numbers aside, Prescotts were low efficiency CPUs and their thermal dissipation can be 3 times higher than that of even the earliest C2D and C2Q CPUs. Cooling was an issue with those processors if you can recall, the stock coolers were very large and loud, and sometimes they still wouldn't cut it.
