Nice, I'm impressed with the performance. Price should be around £60 in the UK (ish) using a highly inaccurate 1.33:1 conversion ratio. That's not bad considering the V8 and the TRUE retail for not too far away from that price, the TRUE especially when you factor in the price of a decent, reliable high CFM fan, which aren't cheap.

This should easily push a Phenom-II to 4.2GHz+ considering the lower TDP of the chips. Interesting product definitely.

Yeah I think if Coolit can hit the £60 mark in the UK it will be a massive seller. seems a solid all round product at a very respectible price.

thxfor review!! i have been looking for a fluid cooled setup for my wifes comp that had a good price/perf ratio with little to no upkeep for some time. until now, really couldnt find anything that fit the bill. this is it. ill be getting this as soon as i get my taxes back in march.
perfect timing to as i plan on getting a new cpu then wich means my d940 goes into her comp & it tends to run hot when oc'd- yes i oc my wifes comp to lol.

great performance. I think they need a deluxe version with the controls outside, wouldnt fancy having to take the side panel off all the time.

40db, thats about the same as something like a 280 GTX on full fan speed isnt it ? Bit painful.

What about medium whats it rated at? might be more usable. im a bit fussy about noise, so any info you can give me would be great.

For medium, CoolIT say 26dBA. Its actually not that much louder to the ear than low though.

if the auto temp corection works fairly well wouldnt u just set it on low then let it auto adjust?

Great review and it's also great that you've found this product, as it's the first liquid cooling system that's impressed me in ages! Even on the low settings, it clearly outperformes the Ultra 120 in terms of temperature under maximum load.

Why did you stop overclocking at 4.32GHz? It's a great result, but I'd love to see what's this baby capable of, and with 36C at idle and 53C as the load temperature, Domino was certainly handling the heat output well and keeping the CPU well inside the safe limits (the Ultra only manages 33C/57C at stock).

That is where this particular chip started to loose stability, even with some further voltage increases.

I was wondering if it was the CPU or the motherboard, but I guess that not every example can work at 5.5GHz ASUS recently achieved. I know that they used extreme cooling (and that their overclock wasn't benchmark-stable either), but at the achieved frequency, Domino was still keeping heat in check so I thought that the CPU could have gone a little higher (not that 33% increase is bad for a top end model).

Still, that actually means that Domino will let the user take adwantage of their CPU's full potential while keeping everything nice and cool.

Nice review. I only fear that prices will come out higher than espected. That's always the case with hardware: they simply do $ = € , maybe slightly cheaper.

I am curious what the results will be when you use chilled air...

i7 965 @ 4,3 GHz : what's a CPU from the C2D, C2Q serie that generates heat that's equal to that? And at what frequency?

As the clocks get higher the maximum stable temperature of the chip can get lower.

I'd also be interested (not that I'm ever going to buy one of these) in the noise levels.

The only reason why I don't order one today is that I question if it will mount properly in my case. The case in question is a Coolermaster Stacker 830, which has that internal fan bracket for 4 120mm fans. And since that provides, what I consider to be necessary, airflow to the SLI video cards, memory and motherboard, I can't simply take it (the fan bracket) out!

If the hoses on this unit were slightly longer I could mount it in a bracket at the top of the case... Otherwise I'd have no other choice but to get a different case.

from what i can see of the pix they posted i dont see a problem. it mounts directly onto the rear exhaust port & seems to ad very little width -1/2" max would be my guess- to what an ordinarey 120mm fan would add. i have the same case as u & use the side fan panel also. i think u could use the coolit while using all the fans. but even if im wrong, u could simply remove the fan that is in that position. & if that isnt enough(& i really dont think you would have to do this) u could always do a little bit of judicous dremling on the fan bracket so the device will fit.
the use of that system & the heat it removes directly from the case will more than offset the loss of that particular fan, especially that paricular fan.

I asked a few days ago actually (and its on the conclusion in the UK price box), that UK distribution is still undergoing and it should be end of January.

Unless you know of a good USA to UK dealer (might be some on ebay for example) you may just have to hold fire a bit until they sort that out.

It's made to be attached to the back of the computer by the fan and you look at the LED display through the case side window. That's a good idea and it would look good in my case as my side window is positionned correctly for the display to be visible. It's also very quiet which is something I always want from my cooling solutions.

I've had problem of clearance with some BIG aftermarket heatsink on some motherboard. This product is great because you won't have any problem of clearance since the radiator is far away from the cpu.

i went to order a coolit this weekend from my supplier and i was emediately suggested to not bother as the return rate due to pump failure had been quite high some over a long period of time and within a short ...

they wouldn't give me specific numbers, but it was in the ballpark of 30%

my luck i'd fry a cpu quick...
