Zotac Nitro Overclocking Unit Review

Zotac was established as a Nvidia partner in 2006 and have been producing quality VGA and motherboard solutions since then. Today we're going to look at the Zotac Nitro, an overclocking tool unlike anything we've seen before. This USB device allows you to overclock your video card on the fly, setup profiles and monitor fan speed and temperature. Overclocking is very much an enthusiast hobby, but Zotac hope the Nitro will encourage more users to try and get the most out of their graphics cards.

nice peice of equipment & review. unfortunatly, the last paragraph sums up the viability of this device.

Fine little review. I won this cool little gadget through DH and Zotac and has been using it. But i noticed a very high pitch tone from it, which sometimes drives me insane, has anyone else noticed that?

Don't you have integrated graphics?

Really can't see the point of this and was shocked when I saw the price, I was expecting it to be a fun little toy retailing at £15.
How does it cope with SLI systems? Will it adjust fan speeds seperately as I remember a while back when a lot of overclocking programs would only apply fan speed settings to one card.

Just to make one further point, this thing retails more than that amazing coolit domino. Now i'd like to see one person come on here and say they'd rather have that yellow box.

Yeah I do, but I could try using my 9600GSO and Zotac Nitro in a new build (after I get enough money to purchase all the other parts)

I won the same competition, but I have to admit that I haven't tried it out yet. I will get round to it, but in a system that's so GPU heavy already now GPU overclocking is not high on my priority list.

On the comments concerning price .. well all new ideas take time to become cost effective

Congrats on the win and on your 9600GSO for sure the test system used a Zotac 9600gt and that entire series O/C's well even with stock coolers

I didn't experience such a problem with the device myself so if I were you i'd contact Zotac about it!

9600s are great little overclockers, have had 1 or 2 of them in systems myself until recently and even had one heavily overclocked with a passive heatsink

£50 Will get you 4gb of Crucial Ballistix Tracer delivered to the door and installed by the current glamour model of your choice wearing only dental floss and a smile.....erm ok maybe not the last bit but definitely the RAM.

Even £50 for something that can be done for free through the control panel or a number of free programs is an absolute waste of money. Plus, take a look at your system, then your monitor and finally your desk, would that horrible looking unit match anything in your immediate area?
