GMC R-4 Bulldozer Case review @ DH

Not too long ago they released their patented R series cases, the only tower chassis products utilizing a perpendicular ODD mounting design. Today we will have a look at another R series case, the R-4 Bulldozer. The R-4 Bulldozer is a tower case designed to house a full gaming ATX system, but with the minimum possible dimensions. We will examine its advantages and downsides in the following review.

Nice review and looks like a good case overall ... not really keen on the cosmetics myself though. Too bad on the intake fan hopefully that is something GMC will address.

Gawd!, what an ugly so and so.

Alright, I know I prefer my cases "straight up", without windows, doors and gimmicks, though I could possibly be tempted by an Alien or Turbine style case, this does not do it for me.

I also take an instant dislike to the wierd way of mounting the single ODD, and I'm also "old school" in considering that provision for two optical drives is pretty much essential. The old "save your writer by using a seperate reader" idea has more or less gone away with the crash of DVDRW prices, but if you get a Blu-ray drive, you probably would want to save it just for Blu-ray.

PS. And just to squash the myth, no, reading is not any worse than writing for a drive, but you generally do a lot more reading than writing, and it all counts to running time.
