Dell Mini 9 Laptop Review @ DH

Read The Review Here

Today we are taking a look at the Dell Mini 9, a machine which offers a similar specification to its competitors in an attractive shell. Dell are one of the largest PC manufacturers in the world and so we expect good all round quality for a reasonable price.

A good little machine.

I just wish they started building netbooks with slightly higher resolution (1024x768) and a faster CPU.

Its a decent little machine. I have to say any keyboard under the 10 inch EEE size becomes quite an ordeal for me. I have big hands however.

Perhaps one day we could have a fold out keyboard built in this type of machines.
Pull a lever and the keys move up and then slightly expand and now you have a full size keyboard's keys.

Nice review Nathan and a nice looking little package for the price. I am still looking for something portable for this spring as I pretty much live at the cottage in the summer

On Dell well decent stuff for the price do you guys remember the Dell Celeron 1.5 system I was running back in 2002/03? Well it still lives doing light duty at work only thing that had to ever be replaced is the HD about 6 months ago.

Well some of the Netbooks do have a larger resolution screen such as the Dell Mini 12 which has a 1280x800 screen I believe. Although you may find it a little big for a netbook.

Personally I've really got my eyes on the Mini 10 showed off at CES.... 10 inch 720p screen, 3g, bluetooth, GPS, 802.11n wifi, multitouch trackpad and a keyboard the same size as their 12 inch model

What exactly are you looking to use a netbook for? I noticed you also said you'd like a faster CPU. One of the goals of these machines is to provide an affordable, energy efficient solution that the Atom does very well.
