ATI Budget GFX Overview (4350, 4670 & 4830) @ DH
ATI Budget GFX Overview - 4350, 4670 & 4830 Review
_____________________________________________ As our readers already know, XFX are new to the ATI game however we have already had the chance to look at a range of their new products and today we are going to take a look at their 4830 and 4350 alongside Sapphire’s 4670 Ultimate. This should give us a small overview of what you can achieve by buying an ATI card in the sub £100 market, a largely contested area with a plethora of products that can confuse consumers. With so many differences even among similar models it is important to take a look at what sort of features and performance you can expect from different price points. This is not a "head to head" article but an overview of expected performance from specific settings within each price bracket.

Best PCIe Card: $50 To $85 - Review Tom's Hardware : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: Feb. '09
Ties in nicely, Toms has a price bracket as "no recommendation" due to the HD4830 being only a tiny bit over, and much better - is this truly a stand-out in its category? The HD4650 got the nod in the lower category, but the 4670 in this review is now cheaper, as well as being slot powered for those with enough watts to spare but no free connectors.

Another nice one Nathan
![]() The XFX 4830 definitely performs well in that range and on the 4350 well it has a target range for consumers and thought it did well. On the 4670 I tend to disagree on the article on this. Quote:

On the conclusion page, the Newegg prices and links for the 4670 and 4350 are switched. Also, the 4670 is currently $83.99 at Newegg and not $89.99 (plus has a $10 rebate).

BTW, I think that a much better deal (for gaming) would be the MSI 4830 at $89.99 and $74.99 after rebate (Newegg.com - MSI R4830-T2D512 Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards).

You're welcome.
![]() I think it's amazing that it's possible to get a decent gaming card like the 4830 for under $100. |
