Sapphire Radeon 4890 Vapor-X @ DH

Sapphire Radeon 4890 Vapor-X Review
________________________________

Today we’re going to be testing the Sapphire HD 4890 Vapor-X. This specific model of the 4890 slots in just above the basic card and below the Toxic edition which is clocked at slightly higher speeds. There is also an Atomic version of the card with a 1GHz core which we will be looking at shortly. Don’t be mistaken though, the Vapor-X model still has fantastic potential and is supplied with a custom cooling solution, increased clock speeds and an impressive output configuration all tied together with an attractive price tag.

In Left4Dead the Sapphire Vapor-X outperforms the GTX275 with ease and also displays visible performance gains over the reference card despite only having a 20MHz core advantage.
Really? I see the GTX clearly ahead on minimum framerate which your much more likely to notice than 1 or 2 extra frames at the upper limit.
As for those temps: ouch they are hot, how hot does the stock cooling solution run? A lot of people look at the card temps and forget what an impact card temps can have on overall system temps, whilst a lot is exhausted from the rear I bet your still going to see higher cpu temps etc.

Great review as always now i'm off to find out what happened to DDR4 LOL (expect a thread later after a few beers).
