DDR3 Tri-Channel Roundup

In the past few months it has been clear that memory manufacturers have mastered high specification triple channel kits with those like Corsairs Dominator-GT really impressing us. So today we have two more kits on our test bench from OCZ and G.Skill, both of which are capable of running at 2000MHz. Added to this we have a set of memory from Kingston which is one of the few that favours volume over extreme speed, their product gives us three 4GB sticks in one kit for a total of 12GB. thk guys! great info, especially with the 12 gb config. that was surprising. thought it would make more diff.
while the ocz rocked, imo the price diff makes the gskill the clear winner, the ocz was almost 3x price of the gskill, with only a small(& im sure non noticable in 90% of real world activities) performance difference.
thx again as i have been looking around at these sets as im hoping to get a i7 upgrade in a cpl of months.

Great review and all 3 looked good

Mike on the OCZ check the O/Cing page and conclusions on price point vs the Corsair Dominator series. OCZ and Corsair will always squeeze that extra bit of performance out of memory.

A good showing by all three overall !!

yeh i caught that . just dont see the perf diff justified in the price difference.$160 for gskill & $420 for ocz(even more for the corsair) but if u want the very best u got to pay for it

was surprised at the lack of perf benefit by the 12 gig. i was thinking about going that way, definetly out of the picture now.
