Corsair HX850W PSU @ DH

Corsair HX850W Review
____________________

Corsair's HX series of power supplies are considered to be some of the best an enthusiast can purchase. We reviewed the HX620W and the HX1000W
months ago and found them to be excellent products, among the best in their respective categories even today. But with an end user limited by the choice between a 620W and a 1kW unit there has been a huge gap between these two products. In order to fill that gap Corsair recently released two more HX series units, the HX750W and the HX850W. Today we will review the larger and more promising of the two newly released models - the HX850W, a product loaded with features and boasting some very strict specifications.

Grace, if you were going to choose between this Corsair HX850 or the Seasonic M12D 850W which one would it be?

Re: Corsair HX850W PSU @ DH

A very nice PSU indeed. However the price difference here in Holland is still quite big between the HX750 and the HX850. The HX750 also has 4 PCI-e cables, so it's a very nice. Considering about it because I already have a HX520 from which is also good

Solid PSU and great review Grace

Efficiency numbers right near 90 percent across the board and excellent temps. I like this series I have an HX-520 here 3 years old and never had a single issue with it.

Better late than never...

That's a tough question. I think both of these units are excellent. I have no experience with the M12D 850W unit, but if its performance is similar to that of the 750W version which I reviewed some weeks ago I'd say that they are an even match with the Corsair. I'd choose the one I could get for less or the one that would look better in my system.

k thanks for the input. I can get the Corsair HX850 for $115 less than Seasonic's so I am going with the Corsair unit
