XFX 4890 & Zotac GTX285 Review

Today when we speak about high end graphics cards the dual GPU solutions such as the 4870x2 and GTX295 are really at the forefront of each company’s line-up, however, single GPU offerings can bring about advantages in other areas such as heat output and often provide a more elegant solution.

Today we are looking at two cards, the XFX HD 4890 Black Edition and Zotac’s GTX285 Infinity. Both are each respective manufacturer’s fastest single core offerings and bring several improved features to the table. The XFX Black Edition contains a 1GHz core (150MHz increase over the reference card) while the Zotac GTX285 Infinity is supplied with increased clock speeds and a preinstalled waterblock for unmatched thermal performance.

Thanks , well-built review.It is strange to see the noise level in sapphire 4890HD , however if we take in mind the price gap between it and the GTX285 Zotac supplied with water block. It is more than 150 bucks you can simply buy a better cooling solution for less than that. And the performances are very close that doesn't make this difference in price.

Great review and both cards look good for different reasons. The price point of the XFX 4890 BE certainly is good in comparison but as was mentioned the cooling suffered.

The Zotac GTX285 really shines in overclocking and temps due to the outstanding cooling solution included
