_______________________

Today we’re going to be looking at the Asus W90Vp, a multimedia notebook full of features such as an 18.4” 1080p display, a Blu-Ray drive and a powerful dual core CPU with overclocking capabilities paired with two of ATI’s mobile 4870 cards in a Crossfire configuration.

Re: Asus W90Vp Laptop @ DH

Quite a powerful Laptop and looks decent overall. I did note the issues with the left hand touch pad and they should work on a lockout for it. The battery life is very poor and to be honest I can't see a device with a battery life of less than 2 hours being truly portable.

On the video drivers issue I see this day in and day out on the ATI Mobility Driver section here and I think it is up to AMD and the Laptop manufacturers to work on a solution.

BTW nice to see this shipped with a 64 bit operating system

Re: Asus W90Vp Laptop @ DH

Very nice review. Thank you very much. I check the site every week for laptop reviews (a bit of a laptop nut here), as I can't find any other reviews better than here. Lots of detailed pics, information, benchmarks.

This did put a dent on my laptop decisions, I will have to think about it.

Also,

^ this wallpaper (on the screen) looks awesome man. Any chance if there's a 1920x version of it available to download? I want it!!!

Re: Asus W90Vp Laptop @ DH

Very good review.

I find it funny how the UK price is 2100, the same as the USA price, but the USA model is priced at $ and not £ and the US model has the quad core cpu. By funny I mean sad.

The biggest problem, other than the above, is the graphics drivers issue that you mentioned. I just can't understand how it is possible for these companies, even the larger ones like Asus, to release a very expensive system and just not care at all about the drivers after they sell it to you. I believe you did the right thing and I wish more would mention things like that. It has got to change. You spend over £2000 on a computer, the least you should expect from them is to provide drivers for it. Unforgivable.

Excellent review. I like the materials and looks of the laptop. A plus for Asus in that regard.

Yes, this is the most handsome laptop I have ever owned. It's built very solid. I don't believe Asus will continue with this form factor, though i wish they would.
USA resellers no longer stock it and it will not be available any longer. Newegg is the only place to get the X2's now.

Only complaint is the lack of driver updates and the AI touchpad that engages during gameplay when you mistakenly hit the controls. The screen is beautiful, though reflective for certain.
