Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RTM to arrive Mid 2010
Russian website Wzor.net is a publication who leak Windows 7 news stories and they have been proven right in the past. They recently released some information on the release of SP1.
Their internal findings show that Microsoft is set to release two betas of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and two release candidates (RCs) before they bring out the final version. Microsoft Gold Partner testers should actually be able to beta test the first release at the end of December 2009 with a public beta scheduled for January 2010. Guesstimates say this might happen during the second week of January, during CES 1010. Over the following spring months Microsoft should then launch two Release Candidate builds of Windows 7 SP1 in much the same fashion it did with Vista in February of 2009. This is great forward planning from Microsoft as we can expect the RTM during the summer probably before the end of Q2. It looks as if new Windows Division Chief Steven Sinofsky has already made a good impact into his new job. Allan Campbell: Heaven Media |
