Full Beatles collection available on USB - but not from Apple

EMI are releasing a collection of remastered Beatles albums on special edition USB drives to appeal to geeks with good musical taste. The apple shaped 16GB USB drive comes loaded with digitally remastered Beatles tracks from all of their 14 albums and costs $330 (£200).

This is particularly big news because the Beatles music catalogue is not available legally on any net based store or website - much to the chagrin of Apple Computer Inc.

The Beatles USB collection is a product of EMI music and Apple Corps Ltd and will arrive in the UK on December 7th and USA on the 8th. Only 30,000 units are going to be available and they are already available for preorder.

The Beatles USB drives are Apple shaped and hold 14 remastered albums and features a specially constructed Flash interface meaning it is fully compatible with both PC and Macintosh. There are liner notes, 13 mini documentary films and rare photos also available on the units.

The music is supplied in 320kbps MP3 and FLAC 44.1khz 24 bit formats to appeal to those with higher quality output systems.

now that is a matter of opinion.
I personally think that the Beatles are the most over-rated, over-hyped band in the history of the Universe...

anyway, I'm quite liking these lmtd USB things that are popping up
like the Star Trek usb drive etc
they appeal to my inner geek

Well im more a Journey, Boston, Queen, Zeppellin, Stones, Sabbath, Floyd man myself, but I have a lot of time for the Beatles - some great songs.

Each to their own, just as long as we dont see an Amy Winehouse collection and ill be happy.

In the shape of syringe? Or spoon?

Anyway, re this Beatles collection. While I never cared for their music apart for a couple of songs, this is very cool and very clever to have the drive shaped as an apple. Good looking too. Perhaps it would be better if it was shaped like something else, say, I don't know, something random like...a beetle, but still very cool.
