Intel admit to bricking firmware on 34nm SSD's

We reported last week that some users updating the firmware on their 34nm SSD's ended up with bricked SSD's.

This firmware released on the 26th of October was pulled down the day after after reported issues with 64bit Windows 7 and updating.

Intel have reported that the issue has been confirmed internally to DriverHeaven and they are working on a high priority fix for it.

Interesting enough, our own 160GB Intel drive is still running with the firmware and we have experienced no issues - we will however keep you guys posted when they release the 'fixed' update for the drives.

Well it's a refreshing breath of responsibility, hopefully they get an end user fix.

Nice to see a company take responsibility for their products causing issues.
