I'm used to Microsoft's outlandish claims about a "better" new version of Internet Explorer. The truth is, they are still ages behind the top-tier browsers. I don't think a few weeks of work is the breakthrough people are looking for right now.

Like most of my posts, I require a semi-off-topic bit, and here it is:

I'll excuse Microsoft if they launch a campaign and reward system for giving IE6 users an incentive to upgrade to at least IE7. Since most of the IE6 users are employees of satistic-natured companies, the solution is thus: Provide a gerenous batch of paddles to all companies in hopes that employees will rebel against their superiors in a fever frenzy of ass-paddling adventure. And the employees will be sure to mark their calendars: "do not be sick or call in sick today!"

Re: Internet Explorer 9 to be fastest browser ever?

Microsoft is trying to make it sound different but all they do with IE9 is trying to catch up with the rest.

The graph shows IE9 as it is now (early alpha or pre-alpha) compared to the preview releases of the other browsers, so is it mend to mean that by the time of the final release it will be faster than those.

The problem is that by the time of IE9's final release it wont be competing with FF3.6, Chrome 4 etc, it will probably be competing with FF4 Chrome 5 etc, that by then will be faster than IE.

seriously firefox is upgrading day by day

IE9 will most likely be competing with FF 4 or 5 and Google Chrome 5 or 6

I hope it will be good but honestly I lost faith in it since a while , I moved to Chrome. But it would be nice to see IE competing with fast fast browsers.

I can't see myself over going back to IE, but GPU acceleraton is certainly something I'd like to see more of. Bring it on!

Optimistic on IE9

Microsoft has made good progress with Win 7, Office 2010 Beta, Bing and WMP 12. Which has made me optimistic on IE9. I think Microsoft will get it right this time around.

Today MS isn't an overconfident company like 2-3 years ago. Its not taking things for granted and trying level best to gain consumer confidence and their reputation back.

Re: Internet Explorer 9 to be fastest browser ever?

i still have the latest firefox, google chrome and ie and out of them all, IE 7/8 loads the pages the fastest, has the least amount of capability issues and just works....

I'm constantly fighting with the other programs, google chrome loads as fast as ie8, but firefox is a freaking slow poke for me.
