driver cleaner cause of black screen HELP!

Hi

I just used driver cleaner 1.5 on my pc.

Dell
windows xp - sp2
radeon 9800 (non pro)

I had some problems with bf2 so I wanna install 6.11 over my 6.3 driver. I uninstalled my ati driver with there uninstaller from there website. But i had some problem when I installed 6.11. There was a notice that I should change my adapter/driver of my screen.

So i used driver cleaner, I used the "ati" option. And when i rebooted after the loading screen of windows xp it just went black. I tried safe mode but i didnt wanna load. And I also tried a different monitor.
I have the xp disk. But I dont know how to used it when I come into dos after I type my administrator-password.

So please help me !

Hi,

did you only select ATI and not the other ATI ones? Also did you run the program in safe mode?

Can you send me your log file from Driver Cleaner?

What you can try is a windows repair install. Boot from the windows cd and then at the first choice screen press enter (To setup Windows XP now, press Enter). Then in the next screen accept the license agreement. After that you get a new screen where you can press R for the windows repair install. Then the repair install will begin.

After the repair install reapply the windows updates.

Please send me the log file from Driver Cleaner, because then i can check what went wrong.

Did you follow the steps of the readme? so did you uninstall the display driver in the control panel through add\remove?
