I just tried with 7.3 as well just to see if it would work. Also does not work. The driver can be installed through device manager so INF changes work. But the CCC software and none of ati tools can be installed what so ever.

Wow disregard my stupidity. I forgot I after i upgraded to a bigger hard drive and clean installed windows I never reinstalled the MSXML 4.0 package. All is working now. So attribute my previous two posts to user error.

MysticalOS glad it is fixed and indeed MSXML 4.0 is needed to mod the msi files.

Spike thanks for the e-mail. I tried it and although it installed everything the drivers and the CCC panel unpon restarting the driver refused to work with a CODE (43) Stating that the device is not present or working. hope you got the e-mail is there anything you need from me to help sort it out? just give me a bell on e-mail or here. thanks for you help you are really good at this. Spike thanks for the e-mail. yes i got your email. Trying to find out now why it happens, if it is the driver that can not support the old cards or that the registry settings are not correct. Will do some more searching and thanx for testing.

Couldn't install modded catalyst(vista x64) 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 for Radeon XPress 200M but after I modded catalyst 7.5 installation was succesfull. Version 8.38 works fine and framerate in 3d games increased. Waited for new Mobility modder(beta) but new driver is also great

Hey,

I think i am in a similar situation to hacktrix. I have a Radeon Mobility 9000 card. The problem is that when i attach a separate lcd monitor, it won't let me make the external monitor the primary monitor. Which is very annoying since the external monitor is a lot better (Eizo) and i do not want to just extend my desktop there. So i hope that the modded catalyst helps me to solve this problem.

Of course the modded catalyst 7.5 did not work - as expected. I was able though to install the CCC which still does not let me choose my primary monitor.

I wanted to know how far are things with developing this modder to Radeon Mobility 9000 and is there anything i can do before that.

For vista the implenting of those old chipsets is not going so fast. I think the vista drivers do not have any support for those older chipsets so adding the device settings will not help, becuase the new vista drivers can't work with those settings. I still have to look further into this, but until now it looks like it is not possible, but i don't give up i keep looking.
