Hello,
I was really happy to found this modder 'couse I have problem with my OEM drivers. But unfortunately this tool doesn't works for me. After the successful modding, I get the same error: setup not found compatible driver... What's the problem? I was try the latest (7.5) and an older (7.4) catalyst driver. I have Toshiba L30 notebook with XPRESS 200M. (Win XP home SP2) please help me  BR. Mikka |

For the record you tried to mod the desktop version of cat 7.5?? If so spike might want to know more about this issue so he can fix it

Install problem
Hey guys - hopefully quick question for you. I have a Gateway Tablet PC M280 with an ATI X600SE that I have upgraded to Vista Ultimate and have been stuck with the generic drivers since Gateway won't update them. I downloaded the new cat 7.5 drivers and followed the procedure for modding and installing as described. However, only the CCC and Catalyst install manager will install, not the display driver. The error is "user must be a member of the administrators group." I am logged in as administrator, UAC is off, and I right clicked on the install setup and chose 'run as administrator.'
Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

DNAtek have you also tried updating the driver through the device manager and then pointing to the modified inf file?
mikka can you post your device id, then i can see if it is in it.

When I try this method I get a message saying "Windows had determined that you already have the current driver installed" and won't let me proceed. The driver installed is the generic one dated August of 2006, so it's definitely not newer than the 7.5 driver I'm trying to install. Any other suggestions? Thanks! |

You could try uninstalling the driver and then installing the new one and see if that would work.

Hi and thanx for adding XP support in the latest version! I'm upgrading from latest Omegadrivers and after reboot on my Dell 9100 with ati9700 128mb I always BSOD with "trap_cause_unknown". Any idea what that means? Just tried with the 7.5 and 7.5 hotfix drivers. I also get the same BSOD with 7.3 and later (if I remember correctly) when using the old Modtool v4.

mikka yep that is the device id. Will check it in my files.
Sinner1 uninstall all ati drivers and traces and install the new drivers, see if that helps.

When i try to install the modder it modifies the files for catalyst 7.5 and everything installs but then when i restart i get a code 43
any way out of it |

Uninstalled all things ATI and Omega (folders gone too). Rebooted and installed modded 7.5 hotfix drivers, reboot again.

darkrangr i am working on that and trying, but it is not easy. I already did a test but that ended in a Code 43 for the mobility chipset so now i need to find out if the drivers support those old cards and what the software settings need to be.
What you can try for now is mod the newest xp drivers and install that.

mikka the card was not yet supported, but i should have the support done now, there are 3 Xpress 200m cards and i had only 1 added. Now i have all 3 and yours also. Send an email to info@drivercleaner.net and i can send you the updated files so you can test it.

problem
hi.
i have a problem. i modded succesfully 7.5. later on i clicked setup.exe and i get the message "setup didn't find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. setup will now exit." my os is XP SP2 andmy hardware is ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9100 IGP. |

I have a Toshiba with the same problem. It uses the Radeon 200M and even if I mod the 7.5 drivers, it tells me they are incompatible. If you could send me the fix so I could try it to I would appreciate it.

lkrtkgz can you check the device id number and post it here. It should be in the properties you can see in the device manager when you rightmouse click on the videocard.
Turks i will update the program, so that when people download it, it will have the new support. I will post here when it is uploaded.
