are catalyst or catalyst mobility divers different?

I am trying to update the drivers to my ati mobility x600 driver. I go to the ati website to download the latest driver, however it makes me download a program to verify my laptop is one of the supported laptops before it will let me download the catalyst mobility drivers.

So instead, I download the catalyst 7.7 drivers off this site (not catalyst mobility) I was able to mod and install those with no problem and it worked great. But could there be a problem since I didn't download the catalyst mobility driver?

Hi,

no you did it right. You need to use the ATI desktop driver, becuase the mobility modder is designed to modify those.
