Ati Mobility Radeon 9800

2 questions if i may:

1) How come the radeon mobility 9800 for xp is not supported by the mobility modder? I have that card and wonder if it will be getting any support soon.

2) I installed the 7.7 catalyst desktop drivers using the modder and everything worked great except for now I can't run Oblivion like I used to with my old dell supported drivers. It quits immediately upon startup. I was thinking that this could be a problem with my laptop running modded desktop drivers instead of mobility drivers, and oblivion may not like that for some reason. Is there no way to mod the mobility drivers? Would it help the problem anyway? Is there a significant difference between mobility catalyst and desktop catalyst drivers? sry for the numerous questions.

Hi,

the 9800 is supported i only forgot to add it in the list.

The problem with the mobility drivers is that the companies like dell needs to update them and in most cases the drivers they supply are old.

Do other games run?

Yes, most other games run. Perhaps the problem is with oblivion alone. Also, i understand that dell-provided drivers are old, but i was referring to the mobility drivers from the ati site. The modder won't work with those drivers?

Mobility Modder can't mod the ati mobility drivers, because some things are different and then i would need to program in to check everything 1 by 1. It is easier to add the mobility setting to the desktop driver, because nothing of that is in it.
