Does anyone have this problem with 7.8 drivers?

Hello!

I have this problem with CCC after modding the 7.8 Catalyst. It just doesn't work.
The moment windows starts, and everytime i try to run it after, i get the message window:

"Catalyst Control Centre: Host application found a problem and must close", or something similar (you know...)

I think i modded right, uninstaling the previous ATI driver, used setup to decompress the 7.8 and patch it with the tool, and only then running the setup all the way...

I have a ASUS F3Fp, ATI Radeon x1700, Windows XP.
