Color problem with MM Tool
The MM Tool works perfectly, but there is one big problem.
When I change the official Dell mobility driver for my x1400 with the modded driver from the last catalyst, than de drivers installs correctly, but the colours of my screen change dramatically: they become much less vivid. Roll back the old driver fixes the problem. How do i solvo this??

Is it possible that you make a screenshot of the screen with the original drivers and 1 with the modded drivers? then i can compare and see it. You can send them to info at drivercleaner dot net

Although the tool worked wonderfully, for which you are thanked a milllion times, I am currently having the same problem on my laptop.
It is a dell inspiron (I refuse it the capital letters) using an x1400 aswell. I seriously doubt that taking a mere screenshot would give any more value to look into this problem, since this looks like a color scheme problem, unique to monitor and graphics card properties and settings. The whole does look less vivid, gray, almost saddening. At this very moment I am still fiddling with the Catalyst Control Center "Color" properties, trying to restore the colors in their former glory. But do update if a fix is found, if you please -- Greetings. Update -- found the solution !! Please Access the ATi Catalyst Control Center by Right-Clicking your desktop and selecting "ATI CATALYST(R) Control Center". You will now have access to the interface that controls various options -- look for the "Color" option in the list to the left, it has a rainbow colored disk next to it. Click it. Now you should see the color adjustment control set. To the right is a scroll bar. It is hard to notice, but very present. Scroll it down all the way. Down the bottom, a box - labeled "Black and White Levels". There, tick the circle next to the lower option, saying "Microsoft MCE black and white levels". Next, click "Apply" or "OK" at the very bottom of the interface. Your screen will now show its bright colors once again, enjoy! (My appologies for the heavy English, since I'm Belgian I'm trying to sound my clearest.) Last edited by CrossedRizla; Oct 1, 2007 at 12:36 AM. |

BEWARE! it seems that by force installing this driver one cannot revert to the previous genuine notebook drivers. because the new driver didn't solve my problems (I already posted the problem in a new thread), I tried to uninstall and then install the original driver, but it gave me an error at the end of the install and the driver was not applied. and I tried several times, I disabled UAC and antivirus, nothing. well, I'll remain with this new driver, does seem very stable and shouldn't do any harm.
