IBM Thinkpad T42p laptop, fully loaded (2373HVU).
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600) CPU (Processor): 1.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium M Motherboard: Stock Thinkpad Mobo, fully updated BIOS RAM: 2 GB, 2 DIMM Graphics Card/s Installed: ATI Mobility Fire GL T2-128, newest drivers. Power Supply: Unmodified Addin Cards Installed and into which PCI Slots: None Hard Drive/s and Type/s Installed: OEM 60 GB, 5400 RPM Optical Drive/s Installed: CD/CDR/CDRW/DVD, OEM. Cooling Solution for PC Case: None Description of Problem: (.Net is fully installed and updated) Two issues currently: (a) When I go to select a resolution for the second monitor, the setting will not stick. I'll go to display properties -> settings and I will select the second monitor. I will then select "Extend my Windows desktop" and hit apply. The screen will flash black but when it comes back, the checked box for "Extend..." is unselected and the second monitor is not active. I tried it for multiple resolutions including ones that were previously supported. (b) When I leave the laptop alone for a while (doesn't go into sleep mode, just sits there), the resolution will revert to some lower resolution (I believe it's flipping from 1600x1200 to 1280x1024) and will be back to normal when I check it. I know it's changing as my desktop icons are all rearranged and windows are reduced to this smaller size. Any ideas? I'm about to do a fresh install of XP on this computer and I want to know that Mobility Modder will work before I reinstall it. |
