Audio Problems after using DC

Hey everyone,
I recently went to update my Creative sound drivers for Vista and hadn't used DC before. After uninstalling the current drivers, I ran DC in hope that it would better clear up any leftover registry entries. I installed the latest driver and immediately had problems in my games. I started getting crackling noises throughout some games, and just during intro music in others. Thinking it was just a faulty driver, I resorted back to the older one, but still had the same problems. I even tried two more different drivers with consistant results. I'm pretty sure something important was deleted after using DC, and I am wondering if there is any way to restore what has been lost. Thanks a lot.

I have the exact same problem. I am running Windows Vista on a 2.4 20inch iMac. After I updated the drivers I get crackling / popping noises in the audio every minute or so which lasts for about a second. I get it just listening to music on the computer but it happens more frequently when I was playing Orange Box.

I have found that by turning off the Wifi connection it fixes the problem but that isn't really a solution as I use Boot Camp to play TF2 after finishing HL2 EP2 and Portal.

I didn't actually use DC but I used mobility modder and after I had modded the drivers the sound starting breaking up every minute or so.

Will DC fix this? If i just to a complete reinstall of the drivers and install the ones that come with the Leopard disc?

I am sure that Mobility Modder can not cause that. What you can try is uninstall the videocard driver and audio driver and then reinstall both. Maybe that will fix it.

After researching about the problem more I don't think it's mobility modder either. I just assumed it might be as the sound only stopped working after I installed it but I think that was purely coincidental.
