ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 problems

Hello all,

I'm really stuck trying to install video drivers for my Radeon Mobility HD 2600.
I'm running a Toshiba Satellite P200-1EE laptop with Windows XP SP2 and I am unable
to get any drivers to work.

I went to the driverheaven.net ATI download and downloaded both the Catalyst 7.12 and 7.11 versions as well as the modtool. I followed the instructions, and I still can't get any drivers to bind to the card.

I've had no luck getting the HD2600 driver from anywhere else. The toshiba support site link for this driver is unreachable (as of this posting) and the driver's aren't on the ati.amd.com support site either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

redmage

I have no idea why it works by some people and by some not. I will look into it.

Re: ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 problems

I managed to upgrading my Mobility Radeon HD 2600 drivers today
using this tool: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php with these drivers: ATI Catalyst 8.12 from here: http://www.driverheavendownloads.net/ati.htm and following instructions.

On the Ati drivers download page I can't find drivers for my system (Vista 32): there are only drivers for Radeon HD 2600 but not for Mobility Radeon HD 2600. I tried modding these drivers, but doesn't work.

Last thing: now i have driver version 8.561-081201a1-072275C-ATI installed.

Enjoy!

Re: ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 problems

http://www.hardwareheaven.com/mobility...ty-modder.html

for mobility hd2600 & winxp x32:

download DESKTOP Radeon HD2600 driver & ccc for winxp (option 2 - Individual Downloads)

extract both, then interrupt installation after extraction is complete

in folder 9_3_xp32_dd/XP_INF, go to the file CX_####.inf

add this line
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9581
to the list under
[ATI.Mfg.NTx86]
save

then either
1. in device manager > update driver (ati card) > point to the .inf file
or
2. add ",0x9581" to the end of the second line (turn off word wrap in notepad!) of the chapter under [WINXP] starting with "R6=DriverPath_R6" of both files
\ATI\SUPPORT\[Current Version]\Driver\Driver\CX_*****.INI
&
\ATI\SUPPORT\[Current Version]\Driver\Driver\INSTALL.INI
then install the dd the regular way (setup.exe)

and install ccc
restart
