Ati Mobility Radeon x600 (HP Pavilion zd8000EA)
Hi, I have been doing alot of research recently into "how to improve my FPS" in some online games I play. Ive came across your modder, but I cant seem to get it to work. (I have read your forums before posting and I am not expecting everything to be done for me). But I was wondering if you could enlighten me on a few things.
Your modder home page states that Iam meant to download the "Desktop Driver" from Ati, or an alternative method from yourselfs. But since iam running on a laptop, the driver program wont allow me to download the files I need to mod? (Perhaps this is were iam being confused). So I downloaded the program from AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities and extracted the files into "C:\Ati\Support" then tried to mod the files, Which came back successful... although when I try to run the modded program, I still get the same message that says "Thank you in your interest in CATALYST, Unfortunetly, this software update cannot be installed on your system. Please Contact your notebook manufacturer for driver updates. Any support would be greatly appreciated as right now, I have hit a dead end. Yours Sincerly, Martyn Langlands |

You need to download this driver for xp AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities, you have to mod the normal driver else it will not work.

Thanks for your reply Spike, I have managed to Mod the above drivers and have them properly installed. However, It hasnt changed a thing which I was hoping for. I know the easy answer is "get a new computer with a better Card" but my financial situation cant afford to do so.
Running some tests on my computer, with pass mark game tester states that my computer spec is not just passing the "minimum requirements" for the game, but also the recommended requirements aswell. This however slightly confuses me since my FPS drops from 90-120 to a total of 3 fps in combat. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated as right now, Iam one lost frustrated gamer ![]() Kind regards, Martyn p.s, I know this forum is very advanced and alot of technical minds use it, maybe asking "newbish" questions is asking alot. but as I said, any help is appreciated. |
