Mobility Modder - Fujitsu Siemens xi2550 ATI Radeon HD 2700 - OK?
Downloaded the latest Catalyst and used the Mobility Modder to prepeare the ATI install files.
After install the PC (Raid 0 500GB, 3GB RAM, Centrino 2.5GHz, Vista Ultimate SP1) did hang forever. A hard restart brought everything up as normal, but it now seems to be using HD 2600 drivers instead of the standard MS HD 2700 driver? As far as I can see, things are working fine. I have not tested BlueRay yet! As Vista support for HD 2700 is not listed on the ATI/AMD page I hope your solution works fine. Thank you Per PS (late night) My PC needed several "hard restarts" to load all drivers and function normally after initial successfulll installation of the new ATI driver. This may have been due to other drivers like internal WebCam etc... But finally the HDMI works automatically. I have noticed that the PC's startup is slower with the new driver. This might be due to some conflict with my external eSata drive or some other Vista perk? Per Last edited by perofoslo; Jun 7, 2008 at 11:38 PM. Reason: Changed experience |

The startup could be becauase now also the CCC is loaded and that is not in the default vista driver. CCC is the Catalyst Control Center.
The driver is installed on the mobility chipset device id, so the chipset that is in it has the id of the 2600. For the rest it is not a problem, becuase they use the same software settings.
