MM and non-official drivers?

I'm wondering if MM will let me install custom drivers such as OmegaDrivers or NGOs... anybody tried?

In case it's needed, its a x1400 mobility on a dell laptop.

Already modded drivers should have the mobility info's in the .inf's so Mobility modder isn't needed. As far as I know no one has tried to use modder to modded drivers.

Well the thing is there are no modded Vista Mobility drivers out there so i'm running out of options.
I tried force installing the latest ati NGO's and the performance boost was KICKASS but the laptop would BSOD everytime i told it to shutdown and rebooted instead.

Are there any options I'm not aware of?

The problem you are experiencing is that you are using non offical drivers on a laptop system. Modded drivers really don't go through the testing regimes internally as you would get with WHQL ATI drivers. Things can be bad enough in a desktop build without throwing a full laptop system into the mix...

You may very well have found that the boosts in speed are actually from the newer driver builds, not necessary from the modifications the third parties are making with their custom driver tweaks.

What I suggest is you clean the system and try our mod tool on an offical recent set of ATI drivers and see how the system works on that level.

What do I have to lose?

I'll try it and post the results over here tomorrow.

Thanks for the help so far!
